Among Yang Cheng Fu's many disciples, Fu Zhong Wen (1903–1994) emerged as his top student and eventual successor. Fu Zhong Wen's journey began when he was introduced to and taught Taiji at a young age by another Yang Family member Yang Shou Pun (Yang Ban Hou's son). Impressed by Fu Zhongwen's dedication and talent, Yang Cheng-fu took him under his wing and personally guided his training. Fu Zhong Wen not only became a disciple of Yang Cheng Fu but also became a family member through the marriage of his grand niece.
During his twenty years being a disciple of Yang Cheng Fu, Fu Zhong Wen travelled extensively with his master, tirelessly promoting the practice of Tai Chi and excelling in pushing hands competitions. He attained an exceptional level of mastery in Tai Chi and, after his master's passing, continued the mission of spreading Tai Chi to the world.
In 1944 Fu Zhongwen founded the Yongnian Taijiquan Association in Shanghai with teachers like Cui Yishi, and Zhao Bin who opened Yongnian associations in other cities. Fu Zhongwen along with Cui Yushi also taught Yang Chengfu’s sons Yang Zhenjie and Yang Zhenduo who were very young at Yang Chengfu’s death.
After the Communist revolution, Fu Zhongwen’s job was to teach for the People Republic of China Physical education sports department as a teacher for various wushu teams.
In 1958, Fu Zhongwen served as the coach of the Shanghai Wushu Team and trained many rising stars in Tai Chi.
In order to better develop and spread Yang-style tai chi, Fu Zhongwen actively engaged in writing. He successively completed the writing of 《 Tai Chi knife 》 and《 Yang style Tai Chi 》. These books have been published many times in China and Hong Kong, and have been translated into English, French, Japanese and other languages, and are very popular among Tai Chi enthusiasts at home and abroad.

In the 1980s, Teacher Fu Zhongwen served as vice chairman of the Shanghai Wushu Association and concurrently as a Tai Chi consultant at the Shanghai Stadium, actively engaged in the dissemination and promotion of Yang-style Tai Chi.
In 1984, he was rated as one of the top thirteen Tai Chi masters in the country.On September 25, 1994, Mr. Fu Zhongwen unfortunately died of illness in Shanghai at the age of 91.

Yang Cheng Fu used to take Fu Zhong Wen with him around China to spread tai chi. It is said that Yang Cheng Fu used to teach and Fu Zhong Wen used to demonstrate.
Fu Zhong Wen also used to accept challenges on behalf of his master were he always made his opponents defeated.
